FIREPLACE OPTIONS
The warm summer is coming to a close and we’ll be preparing for winter soon enough. As you begin to prepare, start thinking about some other great heating options you might enjoy, like a new fireplace. These are not only beautiful but a great way to pass those cold months by.
If you are exploring options of getting a fireplace in your home, here are just a few things to think about as you do it.
Picking the perfect spot is the first part of planning a new home fireplace. If your master room is large enough, I cannot think of anything more beautiful than a fireplace in that bedroom. But other than that, the best spot is usually a family room or living room.
The next thing to think about when adding a fireplace is to think about the size. Once you have the room this should be an easy decision. You also have to think about if you want a gas fireplace or a real one.
I’m more of a fan of the gas fireplace. If you get a gas there are different ways to actually start up your fireplace. Some can be made to be as easy as flipping a switch, others you have to turn on the gas and then manually light it yourself.
There are two different types of gas fireplaces to choose from. You have the ventless fireplace and the vent gas fireplace. The vented fireplace is usually placed under the chimney, which acts as the vent, but on the other hand you can place the ventless fireplace anywhere in your home and you don’t need to spend money on a chimney or other venting system.
If you are trying to be more cost efficient, the ventless fireplace tends to be less expensive than the vented fireplace. I love the fact that with a ventless fireplace you aren’t limited on where you can place it in the home.
If you have other specific questions it is best to contact a professional that will help you install the fireplace in your home. They will be able to help you understand how the fireplace you’ve chosen will work in your home.
